Established in 1856, built originally by Allan Cameron Senior, this building has
been licensed as a hotel continuously since. With its first licensee, James Hay
and being operated by James Kennedy to today’s owners Travis and Lyn Edwards, this
hotel holds its original name and history like no other.
It is believed that The Union Hotel in Heathcote is the second Hotel in Victoria
to hold a consistent liquor license since 1856.
The Union Hotel has a long family history that is still strong and recognized within
Heathcote. Just like the community support that The Union Hotel receives, the hotel
also supports the community.
As the history of this hotel is long, we invite you to visit our Hotel and enjoy
a chat over a cold beer, glass of wine or have a fine meal and we will fill you
in with more detail. You will be amazed how far this hotel has come. Looking forward
to seeing you….
